Umm, I haven't posted much about my budgies. That's because I was scared, but this needs to get out.
Opal (the name for new budgie) was like any bird, until today when I noticed she had an overgrown beak! Her beak wasn't overgrown when I got her a month ago, and she uses the mineral block and chews every single wooden toy on her cage. She uses the mineral block almost everyday, I thought about the overgrown beak and decided to take her out and get a closer look. I took her out and compared to Chrissy's beak, definitely overgrown. She got away from me, when I went to get her, she bit me (she isn't tamed yet) and the tip of her beak snapped off. I heard it break, and saw it break, I didn't believe what had just happened!
I didn't think her beak would break like that! I thought budgie beaks were stronger than that! Her beak is currently normal, but how would her beak grow if she's using the mineral block? Opal has a strong bite and breaks skin, none of my budgies broke skin, only Jordan (lovebird) and now Opal, that might be why the tip broke off.
