Would my Quaker happier with more space or living with me?

I have a Quaker Parrot called Socrates who must be about two or three years old now. My father and I made him a massive aviary and he shares it with two budges (He does not attack them and is even sort of friends with one.) However I recently moved out of my fathers house and am not sure what I should do for Socrates.
If he came to live with me he'd have to stay in a reasonably small cage during the day, plus I'd have to clip his wings. I'm out of the house from 9-3 Monday to Tuesday and am home most of the day Friday to Sunday. He's my first parrot and I feel so stupid for buying one at the age I was knowing I would move out soon.
If I leave Socrates at my fathers house he's got space to fly but he only has the Budges for company since my family don't spend time with him.
He's really angry at the moment and bites at me when I go to visit dads. I used to think it was because of breeding hormones but the breeding season must be over by now and I know it's my fault. When he hears my voice he calls me but as soon as I put my hand near him he lunges. I'm only just realizing how guilty I feel as I write this.
Is he better of with the space at dads or here with me? Will I be able to get him to even forgive me? He must be so confused at why I left him.

It sounds like he is punishing you for leaving him.

May I ask why you feel you would need to clip his wings? Many of us live quite happily with fully flighted parrots in smaller homes.

I actually wrote an article on just the subject you are asking about. Rather than trying to type it all out again on my phone, I'll just link it here :)

I was thinking I'd have to clip his wings as he often gets startled and suddenly flies off, in the past I have lost him because of this. I suppose I could keep the windows shut enough so he can't go out of them. But also since he will attack my girlfriend before (if ever) he get used to her being here.

If he has a history of attacking her then yes you should probably clip him while you train him not to do that.

I've read your link and I plan to have him living with me in the future once I've finished with study or can get a bigger cage. But I'm still not sure what the best action in the short term is. Do you think I should have him with me even though I'm out of the house and he'll be in his small cage until I'm back? When I'm at home he's normally with me on my shoulder what ever I'm doing.

How big is this "small cage"?

I don't have it with me so I can't quite remember but I'd say 26x26 inches and 30 tall.

Another option is for dad to buy him another Quaker, but than I guess that bird would be my responsibility when I have room for Socrates.

I would suggest buying a larger cage for your new home.

Thank you very much, I'll try and get a larger cage for him. I really appreciate you helping.
