I have a friend who has two parakeets and because of her job and school she has decided that she no longer wants her birds. I don't want to add to my little bird family so I wanted to know if there are any parakeet rescues in Tampa. I looked online but found only one for parrots. If anyone knows of a place near by please let me know.

Parakeets are any small parrots with long tails 
I assume that you are referring to budgies, but rest assured her parakeets are parrots.
Even if the rescue doesn't have room, they likely have suggestions of where the birds can go.

As already stated, PARAKEETS ARE PARROTS! I've seen this twice now this week, where someone said they had had budgies before and we're "now ready for a parrot", lol.
Yes, a parrot rescue will take budgies, parakeets, whatever you want to call them, they are parrots.

- Sweep pea is a male Indian ring neck, Quaker name is hobo, mango the love bird, sky and granny are parakeets, 2 finch's, maybe a Macaw soon.
I live in the Clearwater area and I have room if you need a home I have a few already. No bird left behind.

So sorry I didn't answer your kind message. My friend is trying to work it out with her neighbor to help with her little guys. If that doesn't work I'll let you know. She really wants to keep them but is so busy. Thank you so very much for your kind offer.
