Update on Louise the egg layer

It's been a few weeks now since Louise saw the vet about her constant egg laying and I followed his directions and so far....no more eggs. I kept her separated from Frankie for one week then I moved their cage into a new room, changed around the feed dishes and biggest of all I no longer give them the paper kabobs that Louise especially loves to shred. I really think that the shredding somehow kicked in a nesting instinct and made her want to mate. I also cover their cage every night at 7 and don't take it off until the next morning at 7. They don't have complete darkness for all that time but they are quiet. Hope this continues and hope this helps someone else with the same problem. :whiteblue::blue2:

the shredding was almost certainly a key thing in her egg laying. It's exactly how they make nests in the wild

Good to hear she's stopped laying eggs!
