white winged parakeets fighting (canary winged parakeets)

hi im new to this thread and to being a parrot owner. the only other birds ive had are chickens

i have 3 birds. fava, chickpea, and lentil. fava is the biggest then its chickpea then lentil. when i let them out of the cage to fly around lentil will come to my shoulder first. theyve yelled at each other a little bit but it seems worse. lentil and chickpea will fight and usually alternate whos the boss. when they are screaming at eachother with their beaks open fava will choose a side and scream at the other.

just now chickpea and fava were ganging up on lentil then the next minute chickpea was with me because i didnt want them to get hurt. they fight worse outside the cage. if i had to guess measurements by looking at it id say its 4ft by 8ft and 3ft deep. its pretty big for these guys.

the losing bird will fly back to the others and the screaming is deafening. (while typing this chickpea and fava screamed at eachother on my shoulder).

im afraid if this keeps going one or all of them are going to get hurt. it usually ends when istep in and everyone is panting and has ruffled feathers.

theyll get along one minute then be fighting the next. any tips or advice?

Might not sound like an ideal situation, but any way to separate them? Or keep them engaged with toys or foraging while out?

Sorry, I've not had multiple birds before, but I did have a Canary wing. Max was a mush ball curling up inthe crook of my shoulder and go to sleep, and beg for scratches. Maybe taking one out at a time, and going to a separate room to play and work with each of them. Canary wings used to be know as pocket parrots becasue they usually love to climb into a pocket and peer out , and they are one of the fe species that will actually seek out humans in the wild. Separating your 3 might calm them down, and let each develope a relationship with you.

I have two white winged parakeets, very similar to canary wing. They will fight when then get nervous or scared, usually in the cage when someone they don't know comes in or if I interfere too much. They don't fight unless something "changes" outside their control. I try to take out one at a time but they are not happy with that. I just make sure we are all calm and let them come to me as a pair on their own terms and don't force them to do anything. When they sit with me, they each get a hand held at the same height, or each get a shoulder until them decide they want to sit together. When they sit together, I ignore them for the most part.

Your problem might be your three are trying to pair up but are confused bc their are 3 of them and one of you. Who pairs with who? Might want to leave them in the cage more and don't let them land on you when they come out. Have them play on the cage instead of you and you stand there and interact with them on the cage. Eventually maybe two will pair off and then you get to pair with third. The third then might need his own cage next to the pair....good luck.
