I have a parakeet that is a bully, and he would bully my other bird out of not eating or drinking, and he was plucking my other bird's feathers. I finally took the bullied bird and put him in another cage, and he seems to be doing very well. I was thinking that maybe I should get another bird, and put that bird in the same cage? I have thought through why I should and why I shouldn't, the top thoughts being that he would have a friend/mate, but he is already doing well, and I don't want to interfere with his contentment. Does anyone have clarification on what I should do??

Don’t ever add a new bird to an existing bird’s cage.

Also, as long as you are giving your bird plenty of love he doesn’t need to share a cage, and may prefer not to anyway.
