How to get my two budgies to become friends

Originally, I got my budgie Pearl as a companion for Bluebell. I’ve now had her one week. However, Pearl is much more interested in Ducky. Read this thread: http://www.parrotforums.com/budgies-parakeets/72954-pearl-won-t-stop-chasing-ducky.html

But that is not the only problem: Bluebell has not shown any signs of interest in Pearl. She might be quietly sitting somewhere, but as soon as Pearl flies near her, she flies away. I have been able to get them sitting on the same perch, or eating from my hand together. Bluebell is just cautious and a little frightened. How can I get them to like each other? I was hoping that I could eventually get them to live in the same cage, but of course that would take a long time. Right now, I just want them to provide companionship for each other, and get Pearl to stop chasing Ducky all the time. I’m hopeful the chasing will stop after Pearl befriends Bluebell.

I want you to go outside and the first person you meet, wearing a red shirt, you are to befriend an move in with! Absurd? Obviously!
Be very glad they aren’t trying to kill each other!

Obviously the process would be very gradual. I’m not trying to get them to move in right now! My main concern right now is to give Pearl some companionship and get her to stop chasing poor Ducky!

With two females it might take some time, especially because they were not raised together. Female budgies tend to fight with each other, at least a lot more than males, so just be happy for now that they are not fighting. I've had females fight very aggressively in the past, and in my aviary I rarely see the females hanging out with each other. They all hang out with males, yet the males hang out with males and females. It is just their nature.

However, it is not unheard of for females to get along okay. They may not be best friends immediately, but they will have the potential to become friends or at the very least tolerate each other.

Good luck!

Im not sure if you really can make 2 animals like eachother but im no expert in this or on Parrots. I always read that making good things happen when they are together does help though, e.g. eating treats together, play time together x
