New budgie parent!

Hi everyone! My name is Katie I'm 21 and I'm totally new to the bird world.

Two days ago (Friday) I bought my first bird. A cute little boy budgie named PJ happy pants.
Where do I go from here? I believe he is just starting to get comfortable with his new home. Today is the first day he ate his seed instead of millet. How do I earn trust? I can put my hand up to him without flapping everywhere lol but no stepping up yet. Also, I heard they like music. All advice needed.

In this post I detailed some steps you can take towards taming your new baby. I think I mentioned it in my other reply to your second post.... just thought I would throw it in here just in case!

Music is great. My birds bob, bop, tweet and dance when there is music playing. I like to leave calming music on for them when I am out. When I have been in a bonding process, I play soft, relaxing music, whilst interacting with the bird in question.

In terms of diet, it is very important to feed fresh fruits and veggies! Lots of people will say that you should not feed seed and only feed pellets, but I feed a brand called Versele-Laga which contains a mixture of seeds and pellets, and my birds have been healthy on this for years. If you want to convert fully to pellets, mixing them in with the seeds is a good place to start. Just make an informed decision based on what is available to you, and to offer variety in the diet with fresh foods.
