Hi guys. I have pairs of budgies and i get a new interesting colour of budgie .. first time i breed one of this. Male is green and hen is blue. Any thoughts ??
B&G Macaw, Galah, 5 cockatiels, 50 billion and a half budgies. We breed and do rescue. Too many to list each individual's name and age etc, but they are each individuals and loved dearly.
What darlings! Looks like that baby will be blue and yellow. I've seen that mix in pet stores, though I'm not a budgie expert and am not sure the "name" for that coloration. I think they look like tie-dyed budgies Very pretty.
Question- Some of the babies look a lot smaller/younger than the others? Are they from 2 sets of parents or did they just all hatch at different times?
I think that's a rainbow budgie as opposed to a chimera budgie, you can see bits of yellow and blue on both sides. gonna be interesting to see how the feathers get once they're a little bigger!

My first thought is a chimera, but those are extremely rare. Perhaps this is a form of parblue (turquoise)?
I love parrot genetics but budgies have so many mutations that it makes my head spin! I would suggest joining one of the budgie genetics forums on Facebook, and then LET US KNOW because I’m very curious now!
