This is my budgie. I got her from a breeder, who told me she was a female. Her cere was white the first months and then turned brown (still white around the nostrils) and recently theyโ€™re turning into a blue-ish color. Is she a male or female? Should I be concerned? Sheโ€™s currently around 7 months old. I donโ€™t know her mutation only that sheโ€™s a yellowbased, light green (possibly violet?) opaline. FYI sheโ€™s not bleeding, those are just stains from eating beetroots.

It can throw you for a loop when they say males are blue and females are brown, because females do sometimes get that white with blue tint. Yours is female :)

Yes, you have a female budgie. Bluebell also had a light blue cere as a baby. Your budgieโ€™s cere will turn crusty and brown as she matures.
