Just today I hung a small lenght of natural sisal type rope and my Parakeet absolutley was all over it, playing and chewing away. I took it out of the cage thinking I better check this out regarding healtrh hazards for her. Can anyone tell me if this is OK for herto chew on and play with?
Thank You

Where did you get the coil rope? Some sisal rope is safer than others.

If it has no scent and your bird is not ingesting it, you are probably fine. Any rope of any kind can cause blockages if ingested, but you just have to be cautious--this is true even of bird-safe ropes.

If it appears that your parakeet has a liking for chewing ropes in general then I would steer away tbh, use toys that are put together with leather, paper rope or chain instead.
