Tamed budgie taming an untamed budgie

I been thinking about this for a while and I was wondering if this method works. I had my tamed parakeet (Star) for almost 3 years now and about a month ago I was handed a second one (Spook). So far he’s been able to get on my finger, but that’s only with the help of millet seeds and he’s still a bit skittish when he does. My idea was that my oldest would be let out near Spook’s cage and let him watch my hand interacting with Star. They been in separate rooms and have no idea of each other’s existence. I don’t plan on letting them share the same cage until Spook is pretty much tamed and be able to be let out.
It does sound like I’m trying to rush the taming process but that’s because in a week or so I’ll be going out of town and I plan on bringing Star with me (She’s been on trips with me before and enjoys it). The trip is only 2-3 days and as much as I want to bring Spook, I know would not be great for his overall well-being. I want to make another step in his taming process before I leave. I’m nervous since I worried that once I come back, I will lose my progress with Spook.
Give me your thoughts about this because although I mapped out my idea, I wouldn’t go through it without some reassurance that it would be okay for them to see each other.

I think modeling behavior be is great idea! It's a well proven method! I think you can have the cages in the same room now. And wait to do the sharing till you have progress. But still be nice for spook to watch Star.
