I haven't yet got Oliver to get on my finger, and sometimes when I open the cage door he runs on his perch to hide behind his round hanging mirror, but tonight he did something that made me think he wanted more attention.
I have a computer laptop in my one-bedroom apt. and that's where Oliver's cage is as well near the window. I was playing a video game when Oliver began loudly chirping, so I quit and walked over to the cage and talked to him in a calm voice. That's when Oliver quieted down and began playing with his toys, turning his head toward me every now and then to see if I was watching. I softly gave a lot of oooohhhhs and aaaahhhhs, which seemed to please him.
Through experience with dogs and cats in the past, animals can and do show jealousy to things. So yes, I believe Oliver is jealous of the computer.
