Hey all,
The general consensus is that my young keet is female because of her cere and peri orbital nare coloring (white). I gather that she’s recessive pied and therefore does not follow the general rules when determining gender.
Do any of you have photos of your im/mature recessive pied budgie whose sex was confirmed (ie. she dropped an egg or he impregnated his mate)?
I’m so curious! Besides, I’m torn between names. One of which is gender specific. Not worth a trip to the vet for a wellness visit though- that’d almost certainly require follow up for an unwell visit considering the stress and cold weather.
Photos are much appreciated!

B&G Macaw, Galah, 5 cockatiels, 50 billion and a half budgies. We breed and do rescue. Too many to list each individual's name and age etc, but they are each individuals and loved dearly.
I cannot be "sure", but your bird is a hen. ;) Let me try to find pics of "my" two(I gave Snake to my mom as a Christmas present last year).

Lady Hima

Himawari and her brother Snake's faces as chicks. See how Snake's cere even at this young age was pink and Hima's more light blue/white?
