I have an 8 year old male budgie. Name is Sora.
This Friday it will be two weeks from when he sprained his leg.
He went to the vet at that time. Starting today he has been fluffed up for an entire day,not using or moving his foot, not applying pressure on foot, only rests the foot down on his knee, no signs of bruising or swelling, he is rapidly breathing with clicking sounds.please help.

Welcome to the forum but I’m sorry for the circumstances.

Rapid breathing and clicking are not good, I’d recommend you get your bird back to the vet, hopefully a certified avian one, as soon as possible. Keep him warm and as comfortable as you can in the meantime. I wish you the very best of luck!

Thanks.
Only problem is I have classes tomorrow.
The vet also said come backif bird isn't eating or drinking. I'm very worried right now.

Sorry. Does sound serious. Can someone else take him in? Family, freind? Is it a class you can skip?

With the symptoms you’ve described your bird could decline very rapidly. Please do try to get him to the vet ASAP.

My mother refuses to take him.
I have no family around that will take him to the vet.
Is there anyway of keeping him stable

Not that I’m personally aware of but someone else may weigh in. But you should tell your mother that your bird’s condition is very serious and he really does need professional help from the vet!

Yeah.
That is what I've been telling her.

Clicking sounds...... thats a sure sound of air sac mite to me
Buy a product called 'Vetafarm Avimec', and apply the recommended dosage for Budgies
If it is air sac mite, you MUST act fast
It won't hurt if he does not have it and you give him the medication, i use the stuff all the time as just a preventative

Thanks

RIP Gandalf and Big Bird, you are missed.
Welcome to you and Sora. Please understand his condition may be extremely critical. When a bird is in obvious distress the illness is likely advanced but not hopeless. I hope you are able to take Sora to the vet tomorrow.

Welcome to you and Sora.

I am so sorry to read about Sora's condition :( As stated by others, birds do their best to hide their illnesses..after all, they are out in the wild, and if another animal (a preditor) like a hawk or cat or fox) see's that the bird is ill, that would make for an easy lunch! So by the time YOU can tell that your birdie is sick (like him/her being all fluffed up,or sleeping a lot) or sitting on the bottom of the cage etc that will usually mean that he/she is CRITICALLY ILL  and is in need of IMMEDIATE medical help..like NOW! not in two or three days,or a week..He/she will be long dead by then! PLEASE don't think I'm being mean to you! That is not the case. I am only trying to tell you that little Sora needs to see a vet..and not just ANY vet. He needs to see one that knows about birds inparticular.TODAY! EVEN YESTERDAY! Would you rather miss one "class" at school,or deal with a dead bird? As mentioned I am not trying to be mean I am just stating the facts here.
Good luck to Sora

I knew this was gonna happen.
He was too fargone. Note: I have allot of experience with birds and I'm also a vet tech student.
He passed away yesterday at 8:30 to 9:30. This is based on how bad the rigor mortis of his body was. I miss him and I wish u was there when he passed.
I wish I said I luv you and it's okay to go. InI'm just glad his at peace now. He was old to begin with.
