Hi, Paris (my female budgie) got a white mark near the top of her beak last evening, and it hasnā€™t gone away. Please help, I donā€™t know what this is and I donā€™t think Iā€™ve ever seen it before. But sheā€™s playful and flying a lot etc.
Iā€™ve attached pictures ā€“ please help!

Edit: If you canā€™t see the pictures, Iā€™ve made a similar thread on ā€˜BudgerigarForumsā€™, my username is ā€˜theawesomebudgieā€™ and itā€™s called ā€˜HELP needed! White mark on budgies beakā€™
Edit again: For some reason, I canā€™t access the url code, so I canā€™t upload the pictures. Iā€™m worried and Iā€™d rather not waste time trying to upload pictures. Instead, can you please look at my profile album instead? Thanks

UPDATE: Iā€™ve looked at it again and the white mark looks like a substance? Itā€™s not smooth

When I reply, I see that you tried to attach pictures, but they aren't showing on the actual post. Go to your profile, go to albums, upload them there, and then just copy the image code when you go to post (after clicking the image icon about the message box)

I looked- any chance you could make them bigger? They are really hard to see--almost like they are screen-shots.
When was the last time she went to an avian vet?

They are screenshots, Iā€™ll try to make them bigger.
She has never been to an avian vet, but the last time she went to an (exotic) vet was last year because she was sneezing/ coughing? I canā€™t remember but he prescribed medicine and she felt better.

Iā€™m not sure what youā€™re viewing on, but maybe theyā€™ll be clearer on a phone? Iā€™m trying to upload a larger size but it might take a while.

Thank you!! That thread is useful. I donā€™t have Fb, but Iā€™ll keep that in mind. Iā€™ve uploaded them successfully on the budgie forum that I mentioned.

Sorry, but I donā€™t think I can make them bigger. Can you look at the budgie forum I posted it on? Itā€™s called ā€˜HELP needed! White mark on budgies beakā€™ and my username is ā€˜theawesomebudgieā€™. Iā€™ve checked the picturesā€™ magnification and itā€™s fine.

From what I can see it looks like a little bit of something stuck to her beak. See if it will come away by wiping it off gently with a damp cloth or similar.

Thanks, Iā€™ll try to do that with a damp piece of fresh food, she isnā€™t fully tame. Have you ever seen that on your birds though? (Or a bird)?

I've seen similar things on my aviary birds especially the budgies. Usually it turns out to be a bit of poop that they have picked up from climbing around or a seed husk or food that has stuck to them because it was in the water. If it's still there after a couple of hours I'll catch them and check before I think of the vet.

Hello there, I WANT TO SHARE MY STORY WITH YOU

One of my lovebirds had a yellowy mark on his beak... I didn't know what it was since I recently got them. So I ended up going to a vet, the vet said it was a nutrient deficiency, gave me multivitamins. AND THAT'S IT. The yellow mark disappeared within 10 days. So he did have a nutrient deficiency... (this is what the vet said, don't know if it was a particular nutrient)

I am sorry, I can't really find any information on this topic... just thought to share it with you, though you said your bird has a white mark, not yellow. Still, go to an avian vet.
Thanks
