See siggie :)
Lilly, my new budgie, may be sick. :(
She's still in quarantine thank goodness.

She's been vomiting up whole seeds since late last night, puffing up and bobbing her tail. I hope it's just a chill, mum has a habit of opening my bedroom windows and not shutting them at night. I can deal with a chill.
Thimble had a chill at twelve weeks, and showed the same symptoms. I sat up all night with her while she vomited.
If it's not a chill, there goes that new massive cage I've been saving up for for more than a year :( . Mum and dad aren't going to pay any vet bill.
Just thought I'd let you know :(

Ag no Ratzy that is horrible news.:( There goes all your savings.:(

I dont know about vomiting from chills? Usually when they catch a cold - respiratory infection then their feathers are usually fluffed and breathing is laboured. You can usually hear sneezes or it sounds like a sneeze and sometimes there are a discharge.

Vomiting is usually caused by parasites or a crop infection.:(

Put some apple cider vinegar in her water, it will help for parasites or bacteria. Also give her some hard food so she can keep it down like hard-boiled eggs or something.

I really hope it is something small.:(

She made it through the night and I can't see anymore vomit but she's still fluffed up. Poos look normal and her eyes are pretty bright so that gives me hope.

Great news Ratzy!

Let's hope Lilly just had a wobble and she will be better soon.

She couldn't be in better hands - that I'm sure of.

Ratzy sorry about Lilly. She doesn't seem to be out of the woods yet. Some first aid may help. For my own birds i keep on hand Spark Electrolyte's to give energy. Sulphadim for Ccccidosis which budgies are prone to. & Nilstat in case of fungal infections. If none of these things help in the first 12 to 24 hours it's off to the vets.

Yesterday i woke up to one of my birds bleeding from the intestines, every dropping was blood. With emergency first aid & a visit to my Vet & with medication prescribed the bleeding has somewhat stopped this morning. Hopefully we have the situation under control. We think it's a bac infection of liver/kidney's or some irritation to the digestive tract. I have had a very stressful time worrying about this bird. I am hopeful i can pull it through.

I know she's not clear yet :(
No vomiting since this morning that I can see, poos normal ( which makes me think chill ), eyes are brighter, not much tail bobbing and she's not that fluffed up ( thanks to the extra heat I'm giving her ). She has the exact same symptoms as Thimble when she caught a chill. The others had it too, but not as bad. They spent 2-3 days in the hospital cage recovering and I sat up with Thimble all night with her in my hand while she vomited.
I'm sorry to hear about your little one, Pedro. I hope she makes a full recovery.

I hope she gets better soon. Have you put some heat lamp on her? I use those clamp on shop lights with a 60w bulb to provide warmth when they're sick.

Thank goodness Lilly has you as her guardian, such capable hands ...You at least know what the "problem" is.
Glad she made it through the night, and the vomiting has stopped.
Hoping Lilly improves each minute of the day.
