Hey guys i need your help.
I have my lori for 5 days now, and everything is great, he is sitting on my shoulders and eating from my hand(and he isn't even hand fed).
when i get home from work and he sees me, he start shaking his head(as if saying yes...) very fast.
he does that whan im taking him out of his cage.....
my family tells me he doesn't do that when im not around.
is he exited? or is he trying to keep me away and the head shaking is some kind of warning?
King regards.

my little conure does this... sometimes he can get so excited his entire body bobs up and down.

ive taken it to mean hes excited and wants out or wants to fly but isnt sure or simply wants attention or a treat..

then the other week i went to buy a second hand parrot stand from a local lady and her macaw did a similar movement but she said he was regurgitating(spelling iffy sorry) his food for her.

im still not sure what it all means. so others please ensure me also. and hope you get some further answers RonnieDio

The sun conure at the pet store does this when he sees me :p. I never knew what it meant, but it does make sense that he's excited. Your bird must really love you! :D

Aw yea. Some of my birds do that too. It's really a "Hey there, let me come and see you".

ive seen videos where people have taught their birds to poop on command. maybe you should see how to train him to poop in a certain place or something. i have no idea how you would do it but im sure someone will be able to help you with that . if not search on youtube.com and maybe something will come up for you.

easiy way is time how long each poop comes :) and hold him over his cage or some tissue, near time, and eventually he'll get the idea, my brother did this with nut, she either flys back to her cage to poop, though she is getting a little lax of late, or walk off somewhere and poop, its very rare she poops on any1

My house
Parrots
R.I.P. Linius, my Sun conure
Tapa and Tio, Parakeets, Xander 3 month old sun conure
Linius used to do that when he was excited. Also a few times he did it to regurgitate on me. The difference is that when they are regurgitating, their body should shake more than just a head bob. Its said that birds have chosen you as their perfect mate when they regurgitate on you. Its because they feed their mates when they have babys. And as for poo I used to hold Linius over a toilet and tell him "push push push". He would go on command and it became less of a problem until he associated the color white with poo areas (considering we have white carpets lol). Hope this helped.
