As of today I have successfully weaned my parakeets off of their old seed diet and onto ZuPreem for parakeets. I'm so happy now because I know they will be getting a balanced diet! I've already started working on fruits too (where I got them offered all the parrots fruits and zupreem except the parakeets ) and they already like pairs and apples. It takes forever to cut up all the small pieces though! lol. I'm going to keep seed away for about a week that way they dont revert to their old addiction of it. Also today was the first day I offered only Zupreem :D

I feel so happy now because I was so worried they would never get off of seeds and that they would get fatty liver and die prematurely. Now I know I can have healthy parakeets for years to come :D

Also Now that they're really getting the taste of Zupreem they cant seem to stop eating it! :D I walked by the cage and they even seemed happier. They came up to the cage and climbed eye level with me (which is something they have NEVER done!)

It kinda makes me think of an experiment that was done on prison inmates. They were all told that they were being given vitamins every day. Half of them got empty capsules while the other half got actual vitamins. It was proven that the ones who got vitamins were actually happier and committed less offenses while in prison. The ones who didnt got into trouble more often and were more trouble. I guess with anything really a good diet is essential.

Just super happy cause my parakeets are eating the Zupreem (which costs like 13$ for a small bag!) Also cause they arent just throwing it on the floor anymore lol.

check a local farm supply store they may have it cheaper I know mine does I feed my cockatiel the parakeet formula as she prefers the smaller chunks and its half the price of a local pet store. Also right now ZuPreem has a coupon on their website $2 off any bag of ZuPreem products 2lbs or more.
