Travel Cage

I am looking for a large knock-down travel cage for a Meyers. The bar spacing would have to be smaller than 1 inch.

My husband and I camp and want our bird, "Q", to come with us. We would like a large cage so she can hang out with us outside. She is a bold little thing, but I doubt that she would feel safe in anything smaller than 30" long and about 20" wide. I think we would need at least 30" of height.

I looked at knock down small animal cages and I can find those in the right demensions with 5/8 " bar spacing. Could those be used? Otherwise, does anyone know of a bird cage that folds up?

"Q" is fully flighted, so safety and security are of the highest priority.

well i dont know what to say about the cage, i dont own birds so i dontny personal have a experience with cages, but you could check out:

oh i've seen back pack style travel cages so ppl can take there birds hiking etc and i cannot find the site i saw them grrr

nut has a travel/sleep cage, but not 30inches high

other then getting a cheap 2nd hand one of ebay, as all cages come flat packed, so should be able to flat back down after viewing etc

and Q is such a lucky bird, an i have thought of takin nut with us when we go away but i am not a big camping fan lol but might give it a go lol

I hope Q shares our opinion of camping! If not, we will have to make other arrangements for her! We did a dry run with our new camper without her, just with her travel cage. After the dry run, we felt that we didn't spend enough time inside to keep her happy. She will need to be able to come out with us.

If something scares her, she seems to do better if she has some room to move, so the size matters. Too bad her head is so small!!! One inch bars are the rage for cages the size I am looking for. Oh well! The search goes on!
