Just wondering what/how everyone cleans their cages & what they use.

I used to use Poop-off, but it is kind of expensive. Now I use Grapefruit Seed Extract and I like it a lot more. Plus it cuts through the poop just like Poop-off does.

I change their papers daily, and wipe down anything that needs to be (clumps of PB, etc.). Once a week I disinfect all their toys & perches and wipe everything really well. Once a month I take the whole cage apart, let the disinfectant sit for 30 minutes, and then rinse it down with the garden hose in the summer or in the tub when it's too cold out.

dettol/water solution

I used to use a mild Bleach mix whenever doing some major disinfecting, but whenever it comes into contact with Organic matter (i.e. poop)..there goes all the disinfectant properties. Even though I always pre-washed the cage before disinfecting, I would still be afraid that I missed a little spot.

Another one for the Vinegar here.

Clean papers and wipe down daily, weekly is washing toys etc, then monthly is a good ol' soak down. Bucc hates the weekly clean, and will take my fingers if I'm not careful and if I dare put his toys back in a different place well I'd better look out. Major screaming tantrums Kito couldn't care less one way or the other. :D

I use vinegar for most of the cleaning. I will use poop off for some of the harder to clean perchs, like getting poop off the cement ones.

Gigi is the same way. Except she won't even come off her...wait...HIS cage. Man it's so hard to refer to him as a male now. So I have to be wary of my hand being attacked at any given moment as I try to wipe everything down & take it all out.

Yeah really messy toys and perches get a good soaking with hot water, I'm usually just trying to get bucc bored of waiting to grab my fingers when I put everything back in the cage. Silly bird gets all stressy when I take everything out, then again when I put everything in. He just doesn't like people invading his space. :D Even if it is to clean it all up. :D
