Square Cages are best right?

I have a cage, for my goldies lorikeet named Rainbow.
The bottom of it is square, but the top sort of comes out, curves and what not is this still an acceptable cage, or should I look for something that's all square?

Im not sure if thats an old wives tale or not.
My budgie is in a round cage and he is not yet under the care of a mental health professional.
As stated before, I am not an expert.

My Macaw's cage is square on the bottom and then flares out into a big half circle on the top.. Sounds like the same kind of cage as yours. This actually gives her more room than if it were to just continue up in a square shape and enables her to do her favorite thing, swinging from the top bars with one toe. I think as long as they have enough room and can climb the bars comfortably they should be fine.

Yeah it sounds like a dome top cage which is perfectly fine. As long as the cage is plenty big of your Lori you should be fine.

Size, material and bar spacing are the key things to look at in a cage.

I think that cage type would probably be more dependent on the type of bird ... would I put a Grey in a round cage in the middle of a room ... nope, not if I didn't want a "plucked
turkey" in like a week ... I think I am going to agree with Red on this one (boy, do I feel dirty now) may fall, for the most part, into the "wives tale" theory, but, again, that is dependant on the bird.
