Has anyone heard of this company?

I'm thinking of buying a few stainless steel cages from them.

Thanks!

Honestly? I've only heard great things about them!

I also really like Expandable Habitats, as they make some great cages! However, they aren't as cheap.

I've never owned a stainless steel cage, but I've heard that they are extremely easy to clean!!!!

I've thought about their cages before....been thinking about getting one for the ekkies as they're super messy birds. And one for my macaw as he'll need a new cage this coming year as he already started pulling the welds apart.....

Oh My. I had to really check several web sites because I was confusing Liberty cages with the Freedom cages. Both manufactures make stainless steel cages and they look a LOT alike. In 2001 I replaced my Noble Macaw's cage with a Freedom Cage stainless steel which included their patented feeding system called Freedom buffet. When I went to the Liberty SS cages they have an external feeding system and offer the freedom buffet as an option if you don't want the external feeding system.

Needless to say I had to look at each site closely before I responded since I bought the Freedom Cage in 2001 I originally thought that maybe the Liberty WAS the Freedom cages. I also was very surprised to see the Freedom Buffet system offered as a choice for the Liberty cages. All I can think of is maybe the patent for the Freedom cages feeding system expired and is now open source?

I have the Freedom Deltona dome top SS. Liberty's comparable size is their Honokawai Havan. Between these two cages there is a couple hundred dollar difference in price. Both manufactures included shipping in their prices.

I can tell you my Freedom cage is very well made and I love the Buffet system that they are known for. This cage is over 10 years old and has stood up to my cleaning and power washings just fine. The polycarbonate roll tops are not even chipped or cracked after all the years I have had this cage. NOTHING on this cage has worn out or broke. Even the casters are still in one piece (despite my rolling the cage onto a cement patio for the outdoor power cleaning regime during the times of year I have the water on outside). My Freedom cage is a lot lighter than my Kings 406 SS which weighs 210 pounds. The Freedom cage is much easier for me to handle because it is way lighter than my Kings SS cage.

Back in 2001 when I purchased My Deltona I paid $1700 for it. I see as with everything else prices have gone up quite a bit. If I was to choose between the two manufactures I would go with the Freedom only because these people have been around over 10 years and Liberty looks like they are just starting out. Customer service for my Freedom cage was fantastic during the purchase process but I never, ever had to use their customer service after I got the cage and began using it. I think you would like the freedom buffet feeding system better than the external feeding system. Less gadgets you will have to clean.

I was going to upload a picture of the cage but unfortunately I am still migrating data from the old system. Mihijo's pictures need to be uploaded from the old system AND from old, get this, Zip disks. LOL. I am in the process of getting all of Mihjo's pictures together so I can make his scrapbook. Since I brought him home May of 1995 a lot of his pictures are on a lot of different media and computers at this time.

Mihijo passed away in October so the Freedom Deltona was taken apart, cleaned, sanitized, detailed and put into storage. Eventually I will use this cage for another parrot but for now it will only be Valentino my RFM and the King's 406. I will never have a interest in reselling this cage.

I hope I have not confused you too badly.

Yes, Liberty Cage is not Freedom Cage! I can't find much about Liberty Cages online so I thought I'd ask here. I'm a bit leery of spending so much on cages from a company that doesn't seem to have much presence anywhere so far.

Do you actually own one? Know someone who does? Ever heard of this company?

I was planning on adding my opinion to this thread when the cages got here and I could assess the quality for the money.

Unfortunately, I don't even have a shipping confirmation yet despite ordering and paying in full 13 days ago.

I have sent them at least 5 emails asking for shipping info/when will they be shipped.

So far, I am not that impressed :(

I hope the cages are spectacular despite the struggle in getting them here.

Well, I still don't have the cages.

Regardless of the quality, I can't recommend purchasing from this company.

The cages I ordered were already manufactured, clearance cages. They should have been ready to ship immediately. They did not ship until more than 2 weeks after I paid $3,000 for 3 cages.

I still don't have the cages and I'm going on 4 weeks. They provided the wrong contact phone number to arrange delivery to the shipping company which delayed the delivery.

I am NOT happy.

I am so sorry to hear about your cage troubles! OMG that is terrible!

I hope the cages are actually going to get to you. When I bought my first SS cage for my Noble Macaw Mihijo the first company (I can't remember name now its been since 2001) I ordered from took my money but went out of business and I never got the cage. Thankful for me the CC I used with with my bank and after I provided the information the company was gone they refunded my CC. The whole ordeal was such a fiasco it was extremely stressful.

When I went with Freedom Cages it was a 180 degree difference in experience purchasing it. The customer service was wonderful and they patiently helped me figure out correct size and features for the type of bird the cage was for. The cage arrived and was so easy to set up and I love the buffer feeding system. Again I purchased my Freedom cage in 2001 and in all this time I have never had to contact the company about this cage. It still looks brand new and is my favorite cage, even above my 210 pound Kings 406 SS cage my RFM lives in.

I really hope you get the cages you paid for. When you do (because I want to put out there you WILL get them) I would love to hear all about them.

Thank you for sharing your experience with Liberty cages.

I wish I would have registered on the forum to answer sooner. I had Animal Environments custom build a cage for me, and because I didn't like the AE feeders, I insisted on having them build in the Liberty feeders that I purchased. Liberty seemed like a reputable company and the build quality of the feeders seemed OK (this was in 2006 before they started offering the Freedom Feeders on their cages). The latches on the Liberty feeders broke and they refused to help me or offer advice. My Caique could easily get out of the cage because of the broken feeder, so it had to be removed and blocked off. From what I understand, Liberty has new owner and they are working on a different feeder design, but their customer service is still lacking and my feeder issue will probably not be resolved even though I spent about $100 per feeder. The owner of Animal Environments (Carmen) wound up fixing the feeder for FREE despite the fact it wasn't her feeder. Now THAT is customer service! She had already given me multiple warnings about putting different feeders on her cage, now I know why. If the customer service had been there for my Liberty feeders, I wouldn't have a problem with them breaking. When they did break, I felt I was given a "tough luck" blowoff and wasn't given a solution. As much as I dislike the AE feeders, I might have my cage modified to include them so that I don't have to worry about the Liberty feeders breaking anymore. Sorry if I'm coming off a little harsh, I REALLY dislike businesses that tout quality and customer service and then give a customer a swift kick when they need help. I feel so bad that you didn't receive your cages and hope that they wind up sending them, and that they are constructed better than the feeders I bought in 2006. When the company was changing hands earlier this year (maybe late last year?) I actually saw the rights to the company posted on CRAIGSLIST for $25K. The old owner offered to train the new owner on how to make the cages. I can only assume this transition is not going well for them, but that's is only an assumption.

The cages are being delivered today by the carrier. I had to talk to 3 people over the course of a few days in order to get the cages delivered...they've been sitting at the freight company for over a week while they tried to contact me using the bad phone number provided to them by the shipper. Rather than follow up himself and fix the problem, the shipper (Scott at Liberty Cages) sent me the carrier's phone number to contact them.

I have spent $3,000 and a month trying to get these cages here. Even if they were PERFECT I could never recommend this company. It has been a very expensive PIA.

What a terrible experience! Nevertheless I'm excited to see these cages.

My dream cage would have to be a really nice cage by design cage.

Yeah, those cages by design are so, so nice!

Well, we've finally got the cages, opened the boxes and....

....no instructions. None. Sigh.

This ought to be fun.

Oh, and these cages, that I bought on clearance are made in China. Not in the USA and is loudly proclaimed on their site. I'm not sure if I knew that, but oh well. If ownership did in fact transfer I doubt the "Lifetime Warranty" espoused on their website is going to apply to me.

I have only myself to blame for using a little known company rather than buying elsewhere. I doubt I will ever get anything I ever need resolved based on my experience so far. Bummer.

I'll post a picture when we figure out how to get the things together....

It doesn't come with instructions o_O What type of cage is it?

Rosie's cage is a no name brand, and I love it. It isn't as high of quality(had to bend a part to get a caster to fit) but no one would ever guess I only spent $240 during a close out sale.

this is Rosie's cage, if your is similar I can take a pic of the instructions

My handy husband has got 1 of the 3 cages almost put together. It wasn't that hard. Still annoying.

The bill of lading was from Freedom Cages, not Liberty Cages. Hunh. I was sure these were different companies.

We've just got the one put together so far, but the cages are very nice. It is 24x20, playtop. The playtop is great because it has a grate over the tray which I appreciate. I can paper that tray and not have the birds eating it up. The skirt is a very nice design and doesn't stick out too far. And of course, the cages are hand polished stainless steel, so they are beautiful.

They are a little shorter than I would prefer and I have to bend down to see the birds in the cage, but they spend most of their day out of it anyway.

I'm interested to see how cleaning goes when I get to that point.

I would love to know why the bill of lading stated another company's name? Granted I have not dealt with Freedom Cages since 2001 I really had a wonderful experience with that company and was advising people to use them. I still have the cage I purchased from them over 10 years and never had a problem with this cage.

Can't wait to see pictures of your assembled cages. Thank you so much for sharing your experience with us even as frustrating as it has been you have been very very helpful.
