we need a new door latch...the handle broke...it is similar to the latch on a window...don't know the brand of the cage it came with keiko when we got her and can't find anything online also checked home depot and lowes found some new latches but they won't fit...i am having to use pliers right now so the latch still holds the door shut but it would be nice to be able to replace it...it is a large Macaw cage if that helps

You need to know the cage manufacturer if you want exact replacement parts & even then there's no guarantee that parts are available when you need then.....

Check out the add on latches here & see if any will work: Latches : Quality Cage Company

First off, contact the manufacturer of the cage and see if they are willing to sell replacement parts.

I think Windy City Parrot has/had sold replacement parts?

Tried finding some companies that sold replacement parts for cages but I don't recall the websites, nor if they are still in business. Sorry.

Another possibility to consider is to measure the door you have and just purchase a whole new assembly. Many different name brand cages are made in the same factory with slight differences so the frame sizes should be close.

Good luck! Please give us an update just in case one of us are in the same situation in the future.

I love Quality Cage!! I call them for help all the time and they usually have something I can use. Ask for Linda, she's da bomb!! <3

I use their collapsible cages as evacuation / quarantine cages.

The Half Circle Lock shown at JerseyWendy's link is the same type of latch you're hoping to replace. Measure mounting hole spacing (center to center) on both parts of your current latch and compare the figure with that in the new latch specification. If the spacing is different, you may be able to drill new mounting holes in the cage/door frames for the new latch parts. If the new hole spacing would overlap the existing hole spacing, you should be able to relocate the new latch parts slightly higher or lower on the respective frame surfaces.

Sigh, I bought a replacement latch on Amazon for Zoe's cage. It worked fine until she dismantled the rest of the cage and it had to be replaced.
