I'm thinking of getting a Bronze Wing Pionus. I was wondering if the cage I have now will be alright. Its looks like this one. 1/2" vertical bar spacing is what im worried about. I know its more of a cockatiel cage but i really dont want to buy a new cage if I dont have to. The website says its good for pionus. Anyone with a bronzewing or similar size parrot have any advice? Thanks for any help. HQ Flight Bird Cage - Presented by BirdsComfort.com

I don't know if I would call it a 'flight' cage, but it's about the same size as the cage I have for my senigal, and I'm pretty sure they're roughly the same size. To compensate for the vertical bars, I would put lots of perches in on at least one side, or maybe make a mini cargo net. It's harder to climb this kind of cage, but certainly not impossible.

I would definitely recommend a larger cage (well, a 32 x 23 cage isn't much larger - usually has more height though), at least for it's size and the strength of the bars. That said, the flight cage should be fine for now.

Thanks for the input. I was mainly concerned with the bar spacing. I think I'm going to give it a go with what I have.
