So...

Here is the fun part.

Daffy hates dowels.. hardwood perches and anything else that is NORMAL.

So I've had to get creative and this is what I've been using.

Bird Safe Ropes

A spiral vine I drilled myself- Bird safe wood

Dried corn cobs.. New one each week.

Hemp wrapped cattoy... - also bird safe.

Old bird toy cut in half as a swing (Porter has the other half)

And a traditional Hard bird perch.

Picture as follows.. plus the play top and the loved hamster wheel.

Anything I can do to improve it?

I'm thinking more toys.. provided I can get Daffy to accept them.

What about manzanita perches? Sand blasted or not? Or dragonwood/grapevine perches?

Definitely more toys, though! Many budgies seem to enjoy shiny toys (I don't recommend mirrors!), beads, yucca/balsa toys, popsicle sticks, bells.... maybe even try growing some grass for them or getting some hay to create a little foraging bin for them?

That's a pretty cute setup you have there for your babies. :)

May I ask you to please be careful with the frayed cotton at the end of the rope perch? Toenails can easily be caught in frayed cotton, so perhaps you can cut the excess off? :)

Cutting off the ends is a good idea.

I've looked into those kinda perches.. unfortunately I've not been able to make it to the petstore...

((In the middle of nowhere and just got layed off from work.))

So I've been working with what I have.

I've got a bin of foraging scraps above the cage on the top. Filled with treats and colorless birdsafe paper.

As for shiny toys that I can do!

I work with metals and provided I can get bird safe ones... I could easily make some new toys, heck thats what I've been doing all day.

And yup I've got a bungee! I use it for out of cage play.
