I want to get a travel cage and attempt to bring Jeremy to work with me to see how he gets on and to give him more time with us. It may even be something he stays in while at work - he is a perch potato - so it won't be too small and will have one or two perches, bowls and room for a toy or two.

Any recommendations or ideas?

Presently have six Greenwing Macaw (17 yo), Red Fronted Macaw (12 yo), Red Lored Amazon (17 y.o.), Lilac Crowned Amazon (about 43 y.o.) and a Congo African Grey (11 y.o.)
Panama Amazon (1 Y.O.)
I use a portable playstand.

In the car, the bird either sits on a birdie car seat, or my shoulder.

I never use that sort of thing. Sorry.

A bird car seat - never heard nor seen such a thing - thats amazing! I unfortunately am unable to handle him so I would have to use a cage.

Here is a travel cage that Ziggy's owner just got for his air trip tomorrow! She drilled holes into the sides to make a perch for him, and put a comfy sheet on the bottom of his cage. She says that he already loves going in and out of it.

1 green cheek conure (Kumar)

I use the pak-o-bird, size medium, one size up from the recommended. My conure loves it, and plays in there every day :)

Beaker's travel cage is in my truck right now, so I don't have it handy for a photograph, but it looks similar to the above image that getwozzy posted. He enjoys playing ontop of it as well.

EDIT: actually, it's this one. I found it on the internet.

I think getwozz's cage is better because of the placement of the food and water dishes. With my cage, he must stand on the rope perch between the dishes in order to access either dish. As such, when he's eating, his butt is hanging over the water dish, and it's nearly guaranteed to get 10 poops a day in his water dish.

Awwww, what a cutie. I know it's off topic, but please post pics when you get him. :21:

My Umbrella destroyed two carriers. This was only used to take him back and forth to the vet and to the border, which wasn't often, and occasionally to visit family/relatives.

The one I posted is a Kings Cages aluminum travel cage...I want that one because it's pink and grey like my galah :D but it's also pretty expensive :( so we'll see...might have to wait and see what Santa brings Chili for Christmas
Is yours also a Kings Cage?? Does it come in red? Lol how much does it cost? Maybe if you can move the rope perch or get one a smidgen longer so it can go from one side of the first cup to the opposite side of the other cup, essentially making a large C perch...?

In the car he uses a small kennel/carrier that you can use with the seat belt and this travel cage collapses flat and goes in the hatch cargo area.

Alexandrine Ringneck,
about to be getting a Jardine's
I also use the bird pak. I have an alexandrine, and the long tail makes most travel cages impracticable. I like it because it's easy to wear, easy to buckle in, has spots to hang toys, looks cool, easy to clean, and I can sneak my bird onto a bus if I have to.
