hello i have 13 cockatiels, first i would like to ask you if there is any problem to put them in the same cage, i tried in the past to seperate them but they were too anxious so i putted them all together. i made a cage by myself because i couldn't find what i wanted, from stainless steel and aluminium about 1.50-1.80 mettres each side, could you give me advices what i could do better? enlarge the cage ? and advices about how i could make the room more convient for them, i got the cage in the living room , my living room is with the kitchen, anyway it's safe but i would like some specific suggestions how to make it a parrot room. :grey::yellow1:

I think that seperate cages would be okay as long as you place them really close together. Finding one cage for thirteen birds is going to be extremely difficult, you're going to almost need an indoor aviary if you want to have them together.

I'm not sure how big your living room is or how much you want to spend but there are cages out there. I don't know how long you've had them but it sounds like they have bonded (luckily we only have 2 tiels and one's bonded and one's not so basically the one thinks of the other as a 'pest' - sorry got off the subjec a little). When you had them in separate cages were the cages close together? If so and that still didn't work there are definately large cages out there but when choosing make sure to pay attention to the bar spacing. Try for one with 1/2" bar spacing but definately not larger than 3/4". Hope that helps some :)

thank you, i searched in my country and i couldn't find a cage big enough from stainless steel appropriate for cockatiels so i made it on my own now the point is if i'm going to enlarge it, it is consist of parts, each side of the cage is a part that connects with the another, so it will be quite easy to add a few parts. concerning my living room, they can have it all 2 mettres for me for my sofa are fine the rest is their., and concernig the money .. i would give my life for them. yes the cages were close but they still wanted to be all together. i talked with some other guys in a greek forum and they insisted that is bad for them to be all together, that's why i want more opinions. concerning the bar spacing, the stainless steel i use it's like small squares somewhat like that http://product-image.tradeindia.com/00332960/b/0/stainless-steel-Cages-Trolley.jpg, i have two female cockatiels which have a problem and can't fly and they found this cage easier to climb. i'm thinking of enlarging it so each side would be two mettres, what do you think? another thing i want to ask, can i put my birds outside in my balcony for a few hours per day when the weather will be better or they have to be always at home ?

I dont see any reason why you couldn't expand the cage if you have the room and money. And If the weather is really nice and the birds will be caged I dont' see why you can't have them outside for a little bit each day
