Hi,
I have a flock of 5 birds (the cockatiel is "brand new", still on quarantine, so I'm not sure about him yet), but my gcc, lovebird and two budgies get along very well. I recently moved the budgies and lovebird together since they became very bonded while on quarantine all together - they came from the same home. My gcc Parry spends most of the day on the top or inside their cage (if he manages to get in), and never had any issues with them. When they roam/fly around cage free they all always stick together. I started thinking about getting a large flight cage for all of them. I really don't want a heavy duty cage like Parry has now, but something I can easily move and lift. I have a back injury so it really has to be rather lightweight - not much more than 20-25 pounds, with plastic tray. I was looking at this:
Prevue Pet Products Extra-Large Wrought Iron Flight Cage, Black Hammertone: Birds : Walmart.com
I love the size, but it doesn't say the weight anywhere, so I'm not sure. The other two flight cages I have (18x18x30) are very lightweight, and I can easily lift and carry them with birds and stuff inside.
If you guys know of decent large cages that are not heavy, please let me know and send links if you can!
Thank you!!

I built mine out of wire mesh, it is very light, 5 feet long, 2 wide and 2 deep. No tray, I hang it and hose off the cement underneath.

You built it yourself? WOW!!! Respect! I don't think I'd be capable of this. I'm also afraid Parry could chew through the wire mesh…

dont let the word "mesh" fool you - it is VERY sturdy, and I do not believe my GCC could chew through it.

I think SilverSage had a very clever idea. Building one lets you make it as big as you want and in a shape you want. I think that building it is a very good idea and I bet you could find some ideas and how to's on YouTube.
That cage you're looking at from Wal-Mart also says a shipping weight of 49 lbs.
