Your new cages are amazing! Well worth the wait, heh? I also want pics of the cages when you have them all set up, and maybe with the new occupants in or on their shiny new rooms.
Very nice! Those will last the rest of forever. Where'd you have them custom made? Not that I could afford a clearance-priced stainless cage, but I wasn't aware anyone made them custom! I look forward to photos of them all filled up and the new residents reactions!
@kiwibird
i got it custom made by a local stainless steel engineering company. i just did up the drawings of the cage and submitted it. helps that the guy doing it has prior experience with fabricating cages.
wasn't easy though, had to meet up a few rounds to confirm the designs. and most of the stuff i envisioned having was well….not really realistic so yeah there were a lot of changes and headaches>< but oh well the things we do for our fids hahaha
Those are amazing!!! I had to get a Bennet's for one of my Macs because he was always breaking out of his King's 506 (splintering) . There's such a lack of non China made sources thinking how nice it would be to have another American made source where we know the stainless is medical grade, and well made. Maybe u could rep for this company? Just a thought !! Or someone..
My mom bought stainless cages for her amazons when she got them....back in the 1970s. The amazons STILL live in them, and besides scratches, they're still in great shape 40 years later. In fact, she tried buying her zons larger, modern powder-coat cages once, and they absolutely refused to go anywhere near them. Those birds will live in their stainless cages until they die (and even then, they cages may outlast the birds:52 Unless you WANT to replace them, you probably won't ever HAVE to. Stainless is so worth the investment if you can afford it (we are going to get Kiwi a stainless cage someday...).

I have 2 SS cages, macaw size, that where made by California Custom cages, they are no longer in business. They are about 25 yrs old and look brand new. The lady who gave them to me, along with amazons, had custom covers with the birds names on them. I think the cages cost 1,500$ or more in the late 80's early 90's. They are by far the best cages i've ever seen.
