Hi. I am taking a trip to LA by myself for a week and I want to bring along a pet. I dont want to bring my dog cause the last time we brought him along, he pooped twice everyday, and was awfully loud (its a loft on the 8th floor). I would like to bring my bird for company and was thinking of buying a large temporary cage for her. One that can fit in the back of my scion xb but can house her during the day for only about 3-4 hours. She will be out on her perch for most of the day, or playing with me, or traveling with me in the car (she has a travel perch, she doesnt like to be in a travel carrier) when we go visit my sister in San Diego.

Does anyone know of any reasonable priced "vacation" cages?

Define reasonable. To transport our birds..just from the breeder to our home...we used a wire dog kennel. They're inexpensive usually around $50 and collapsible which is a plus if you're low on space. There are various sizes to choose from and they have a removable tray.

reasonable as in, not the price of a large bird enclosure, you know, those 300-600 dollar cages. But the kennel is a good idea!

Cool, looks like the travel cages on Windy City are similar to what we use at comparable price.
