Hey guys, for next spring and summer i was looking into buying an aviary to put outside for cooper. I already have a location, just need the aviary. I was thinking of something similar to this:

Suncatcher Bird Cages : Four Foot Diameter Outdoor Designer Cage aviary cages, large parrot cages, bird enclosures

I don't really need anything bigger than that for a single Quaker, and its an alright price. My only concern is there isn't a safety catch available for that size as far as i know. I really dont want to have to buy up a few sizes just for the security of that, and i dont know if the bar sizes of the larger sizes are alright. Does anybody know if there is someway i can get a safety catch for that, or a way to safely put a bird in without it?

If you don't have a safety catch, you could always bring your bird into the aviary with a travel cage. For opening the gate, you could try and put a bird catching net that drapes over doors. Several members here use them for their entry ways or sliding doors. It would work well so long as it can completely drape over the aviary gate as it's open. I also hope to get/build an aviary soon, and those are the alternatives I've thought of if I can't get a safety catch.

I would use a travel cage to bring him out even with a safety catch. My worry is, without it, i open up the travel cage and something spooks him and he flies out right away. not likely, but it could happen. I will definitely look into some kind of net though.
