So in the midst of family tragedies; Hitting a deer and getting a new car and finding rust spots on Porter's and the budgies cages thanks to an unusually wet winter here in Texas... and having to throw most of them away.

I'm strapped for money; especially with Daffy's vet visit in the next month.

Travel cages and old cages have taken the place of what used to be my set up; at least until we have the money to get all new flight cages again. YAY.

So don't hate on me for this set up; I'm actually rather proud of it considering what I've had to work with. For cleaning purposes.. and for the limited space we have right now its the darned best I can do.

I'm just glad the budgies have no issues moving cage; and Porter always loved this cage anyway. Someone is always home; they are trained to 'go home' when we tell them too and in general they hardly ever get in any trouble. So... its more a free flight thing with a place for them to go to when they get bored of us :p.

So um yeah.. HI and sorry for poofing for so darned long!

I think that is a wonderful derful set up considering everything. All you can do is your best, no one can fault you for that! And just think, when you do get your new flight cages, you can watch the excitement and joy on your budgies faces!

For a week or so the budgies were in that small green cage together.. until I got my mother to ship me the old travel cage for her conure. At least this way they have a 'communal' space they can share when they wish.. though they get separated during the day for a couple of hours when hubbie is sleeping. I'm afraid of nesting behavior's in Maibock >.>

I can't wait though its going to be some months before it can happen.
The idea is a HUUUGE flight cage and then split it down the middle using a plastic mesh I have. That way I have one cage... and the birds can share the whole thing xD
Just like we do with the current travel cage.

That or well this HQ Double Flight Bird Cage at PETCO
