Hi all, I've been gathering information off this forun for a couple of weeks now and finally got around to registering, yay.
I'm currently looking for a new cage for my beautiful young Greek Cheek, Nix, and I've found that my mind has been changed with every article/review I have read.
The Internet is so hypocritical and its driving me mad haha, but heres what ive decided so far;
-flight cage (width better than height)
-with stand
-secure lock
Thats about it really, I decided id prefer to create my own "playtop" rather than sacrifice internal space but due to my budget I have a maximum of $200 to spend including shipping. Plus it seems significantly harder to find one that is available in AUSTRALIA!
Any advice, links, recommendations or corrections will be truly appreciated.
Thanks for reading, (and hopefully replying) and we look forward to chatting amongst fellow bird lovers :green:

Welcome to the forums.....best advice I can offer is to wait 'till your country mates wake up or return from other engagements.....they'll be better prepared to offer you suggestions than those of us on this side of the big ditch.....

Good luck.....

What about CL? It won't be new but should be usable as long as they didn't repaint it or if it's covered in rust. Plus, there are some good deals! I just saw a HUGE macaw cage in great condition for only $250!

Thankyou for replying :)
Sorry but what is CL? And because of my funds, or lack thereof, I was looking at used cages so that I could still get a decent sized one, however I am concerned that it won't resemble the condition in the picture when it arrives. Haha, I'm probably just overly paranoid? but I'm new to the online shopping thing and can't afford to buy an other if something goes wrong. Just a little stressed about making the right decision by my bank account and my birdy :)

CL is craigslist or "the website that shall not be named".
Usually, people don't deliver and you have to pick up your item you want so it gives you a chance to see before you bring it home giving you time to decide if you want it or not.

CL stands for CraigsList, an internet trading/sales network for new & used things, but I'm not sure whether they operate in your part of the world, though they do in North America.....

Like I mentioned earlier, might be best to wait 'till our OZ members finish their beauty sleep.....it's good we all don't need it or or you guys down under would have to wait a long time.....

Both of my babies have AviOne cages. I am pretty sure they make a flight cage. They are sturdy, don't rust quickly at all (I have an overly active bather), easy to put together and with stand a fair amount of birdie abuse. :D

I got them from our local pet shop. I know you can get the from Pet Barn. Good luck!!!!
