Thoughts on my setup? Too much?? (lots of pics)

Hello again! haha.

So got my toy shipment in from mysafebirdstore. I smiled when i opened the box. Everything was all packed in bags with bows and stuff haha, wasn't expecting that. Anyways, I arranged the cage today and I want to know your guys' thoughts on this.

Is it too crowded for my Jardine's Parrot? Or is it fine? I am going to construct her play stand out of grapevine wood next month so if there is too much in the cage I can easily move them to the stand.

There are 'smaller' toys lower in the cage and Im curious, will she even use that area? I'd like her to utilize the whole cage if all possible, but if the likely hood of the swing, perch, and toys is just to get pooped all over than I'll remove them because it would just be pointless to put them there.

(p.s. I know my power cord is right there, it will be getting moved to the other side of that board. And Yeah there are plants there, but they're animal friendly (they were in my gecko tanks but didn't kick off too well so I moved them, but either way I know its hard to see but they're far enough from the cage wall where Jardy couldn't stick her beak thru and nom on them if she felt inclined to do so lol.) Also, all those clips will be replaced with stainless steel ones. I totally spaced when I bought them at walmart and remembered that they had to be stainless steel. I'll be getting them at Ace when i go to get supplies for my stand.

It looks amazing!!! My personal preference is to minimalize what's in the cage and introduce each additional item one by one. Like the swing under the ladder or rope path, I'd take that out for now, then introduce it later but higher in the cage later. It looks awesome, a bird is going to be spoiled rotten there!

Aahh, so you feel that it will just be too much to be introduced all at once? Like, overwhelming, but as far as them actually in the cage space-wise it's fine?

Yes Jardy is going to be spoiled <3 I spoil all my animals, each of my gecko tanks (3 total) i've poured about $200 each into each cage (they're all live vivariums, LED lighting, etc.) So I think Jardy will enjoy spending her life with me <3<3

I've found with mine they focus on a couple of things at a time, BUT, some they don't or it takes them a while. For example I put in some kabobs for Buddy, it took him 3 months to even touch them. I put in an edible perch and he goes to town. I bought him a swing and he won't touch it. Venus on the other hand, she wants to touch everything, she went after her kabob right away, the only item she didn't touch immediately is the swing. The swing is sitting on the bar in our kitchen and I'm working creating some play perches. Both love to tear things up so I've got some shred toys in their cages right now that are a hit.

Sample different toys and challenges with your fid and see how they respond to gage what they like at that moment. They are fun to watch discovering. if I were a bird I'd be in heaven in that cage set up. Try it and see what they don't touch in 72 hours and remove those items, then introduce or change them out with other items. Mine love variety, especially Venus, she's my challenge bird, lol.

I see, I see. That makes sense. I'll give that a shot i plan to go to petsmart next month as well and get more toys, not to fill the cage up with, but to rotate and for the play stand as well, of course hehe. god I'm going to have a whole tub of toys. @_@ I think I have a problem guys hahahaha

Wonderful cage and toys! MSBS packages are the best, they think of the parronts too!

Once your parrot has moved in and you have a chance to watch her play and move around her cage, arranging her perches and toys will get easier.

My birds don't use the lower part of their cages much, with the exception of my cockatoo, but that isn't a fair comparison, I think Poppy's a monkey in a bird costume.

hehe yeah, as it stands I'm not too sure how much space she'll need to go from place to place, etc. so i'm sure i'll be changing the cage soon after her arrival (not overly soon but you know)

I think it's fine . Mine also have tons of stuff.

You type as you think, good style! Petsmart- check online. With petco, huge price difference! And, oh oops! If you return it to the store without a sales slip, you get full store credit!

Cage-love it! But as others have said, less is more! My JoJo ignored 90% of what I set up at first. Been slowly reintroducing stuff and he loves it.

My ONE concern is that ladder is going to get pooped on a lot in that position. I'd move that a little higher, and have it function like a mirabella line. They'll use it as a tall perch that way, rather than as a bathroom...

Those things can be a pain to clean...

I can certainly move it up no problem. Not sure what a mirabella line is though hahaha tried googling it and just got make up o-o;

A mirabella line is the chain with the colored rings attached to it every six to eight inches or so... Sweepea's got one in her cage.
