I've been looking into cages and dear lord, I just cannot find out what the material is for so many of these cages! WHY! But anyway, I found these double macaw cages online... I just can't figure out if it's stainless steel. Any ideas?

Large Bird Cages : Double Macaw Bird Cage - 64"W x 32"D x 73"H toucan cages, African gray cage, greenwing cages

Large Bird Cages : Goliath Macaw Bird Cage - 79"W x 39"D x 75" Cheap birdcage, discount birdcage, wholesale birdcages

I know that it comes with cups that are stainless steel... :52:

Stainless steel will be shiny silver (just like any other stainless item, they do not powder-coat them with the fancy colors). Also, a double macaw stainless cage will be in the neighborhood of $3,000+. Those cages are both very nice looking, but they are definitely powder coated iron (like most bird cages are).

Presently have six Greenwing Macaw (17 yo), Red Fronted Macaw (12 yo), Red Lored Amazon (17 y.o.), Lilac Crowned Amazon (about 43 y.o.) and a Congo African Grey (11 y.o.)
Panama Amazon (1 Y.O.)
They make a stainless steel version of one of those:

[ame=http://www.amazon.com/Cage-Co-Stainless-Steel-Double/dp/B003LW2GR4/?tag=leosm1-20]Amazon.com : A and E Stainless Steel Double Macaw Bird Cage : Birdcages : Pet Supplies[/ame]

I stand corrected. They make both of those cage models in Stainless...

One is $3,400. The other is $4,250... Save your pennies!

Oh dear. OvO Poor me and my poor bank account. XD But what's the hype about stainless steel then? Does iron that's been powder coated not last as long?

1. Stronger, big Hy sized beaks have trouble breaking those cage welds.

2. Doesn't rust.

3. Lasts longer.

A really good stainless steel cage is the last cage you will ever buy...

Hmmm.... Maybe I can make my parents dish out an extra 3 grand. They said that in a year or two, they'd buy me a Hy if I really wanted one.... Then again, a Hy + Stainless steel cage big enough for one is very, very expensive... XD
