I purchased the A&E cage for Gollum 32x24 I believe it is. Anyhow, the blanket I have that is dark enough is too thick and the sheets I have are too light.

What do you use to cover your cages? Is 75 plus shipping average for a cover?
Any recommendations of someone who makes them?

Hubby had one made for us by a designer friend. It's a black table runner that had velcro on it. We got high quality magnets and use them with the velcro to go around the cage. I cover the top of the cage with a black fabric cut to fit it. The cover covers 2/3 of the height of the cage to allow airflow.

I was thinking about getting just a cotton, king size, black, flat sheet.

Zilla 29 Y.O. Orange Wing Amazon
I measured Zilla's cage and then went to the fabric store and bought several yards of "fleece" fabric in a color and design I like (since she lives in my living room and goes to bed a couple hours before I do) then I cut it in half and ran it through the sewing machine to attach the 2 pieces together to make it wide enough and just left it unhemmed. I just toss it over her cage when she puts herself to bed and "whines" to be covered up.

I now have one for winter...the fleece one and I made a more light weight one for summer out of some flannel fabric I found on sale that I liked.

Presently have six Greenwing Macaw (17 yo), Red Fronted Macaw (12 yo), Red Lored Amazon (17 y.o.), Lilac Crowned Amazon (about 43 y.o.) and a Congo African Grey (11 y.o.)
Panama Amazon (1 Y.O.)
I actually gave my cover away to someone who was having macaw screaming issues...

I don't even cage mine, much less cover. They sleep out on their playstands.

Our first bird, Tango, freaked when covered. JoJo likes his, but it is just a simple old sheet. Bongo has a sheet, and a sleep cage.
