As you've probably heard Zoe considers her cage a thing to be dismantled and destroyed. It's a little over a year old and she's removed all the doors and a good chunk of the paint.

Recently I came across the following Craigslist ad and we're supposed to drive the 4 hours to see it Sunday.

Large Bird Cage

This is the second owner of the cage. He doesn't know the brand but I'm guessing featherland by the looks and they go for 2k new so the price seems reasonable.

Anyone with experience with this brand of cage or thoughts?

He's selling it because got emphysema and had to rehome his too.

Okay, I deserve what ever flogging is coming for that!

THAT IS A NICE CAGE! And you're right, it's a featherland SS cage, around two grand each. If you don't, I might...

Actually that's the $2500 version, not the $2,000 version, and IT'S A FOLDING CAGE. There is a close up of the door latching mechanism on this link:

I have my ss Expandable Habitats 48306 that I need to sell. I'm replacing it with one that has smaller bar spacing. I'm in southern CA though...

It's true, she is a complete terror when it comes to taking things apart. I need to go buy a supply of wingnuts as she's taken down all her pitches and half of the other birds and then she flies off with the wingnuts.

PS Mark, we will not be getting the outside feeders. She would have that down in under 2 seconds. ☺

Wow, that's a nice one Karen, and such a good deal. I've seen and heard about Featherland cages and they seem well made. I wonder how escape proof they are?

That's just a given. Not to mention the fact that I'm not sure mine would want anything to do with sticking their head in a hole to eat...

My solution to the wingnut thing, and I've got three that do that, was to replace the wingnuts with lock nuts, and put them on with a socket wrench. You have to steam clean the perches in place after that, but no more, as you are putting this one up, that one falls to the bottom of the cage nonsense...
