Amazon (the company) ranting and a DIFF cage now

So I ordered a cage from them right... well they shipped it.... and I got HALF of it. 1 of 2 boxes... 400$ cage.

When i ask them "Hey, where's the other half of my order? Can you ship out the other half you forgot?"

they say: "Oh no sorry we can't do that".

You... can't... do it? I'm sorry.... You can't ship out the other half of MY ORDER that YOU forgot? Why? I PAID FOR IT.

They were like: "We can offer you a refund though once you send it back to us."

HOW IS THAT GOING TO SOLVE MY ISSUE????

So I had to go thru the refund page, well they didn't offer the 'take to UPS store and they'll scan the bar code we email you and print the label for you' option. So I had to print it myself... problem is... I don't have a working printer, let alone paper to put IN the printer.

So I had to pay them an extra dollar so that I can wait 2 weeks (come on... we know this is how long it's going to take them to send the label out) for them to send me the shipping label, and then i get to haul the 50lb box to the car, put it IN the car... somehow... and get it to the UPS store where I then get to take it OUT of the car and then get it in the store....

My trust in Amazon has diminished.... completely. Why couldn't they ship out the other half of my order that I paid for, that THEY forgot. I called FedEx too, and asked them if perhaps the carrier just forgot it at the facility, and they said no, they had NO packages addressed to me in their facility. So Amazon forgot it.

So now I got to go cage hunting again. Found one at Petco I liked, and ordered it from them. It should be here by the end of the week and hopefully with everything there. They said if for some reason it's not all there, to just simply take it to their store. I ordered it there at the store, and they took my info and order number, so if I do have issues they'll easily be able to solve it.

-facepalm-

So here's the cage i settled on. It's pretty much the same, just wish they had it in white (bird dust makes the black cages look nasty). Full sized door, like some suggested hahaha. It's 30$ more expensive but right now I don't care about the $, I just want a cage to set up so I can get my bird back home. I knew this whole process wasn't going to just fly by easily.

Same to thing happened to me but from wayfair. They shipped out the missing parts, without me returning. Thank goodness. So now I have half of a bird cage for replacement parts if needed I guess.

The market bases off Bird Cages 4 Less. The really big difference, they only sell Bird Stuff. That means if you order a cage, you get everything you need, because their staff ship Bird Cages all day everyday and know what a complete cage order includes!

Oh no, that's awful. Pretty incompetent. When new staff get that warehouse job, they need to be trained to be aware of things like that.Sorry that happened to you. I got my budgie double flight cage from BirdCages4Less.com. It came quickly and customer service was good, but the cage has some bent areas and spots that don't quite fit perfectly together. Pretty typical import quality like most cages on the market today. Overall I like it, and I wouldn't hesitate going through them again. It came in 3 boxes I think, and they didn't forget any of them ;).

yeah I kind of expect SOMETHING to be wrong with bird cages. jardy's first cage, the stand was not only uneven, but crooked and nothing I did straightened it out. So I literally had to have someone force it straight so i could set the cage on top of it.

I'm hoping this new cage comes with less 'multi-hand needed support'. the half i did get from amazon was pretty good.... just ya know.. minus the missing half hahahaha.

sight unseen is a bad way to buy a cage, also figured out you get what you pay for when it comes to cages. cheep cages are just that. if I where looking for an inexpensive cage I would look on the local craigslist first cleanup can be done and when dealing with those folks it is pretty standard.

I had a similar experience with an Amazon order. Turns out UPS had lost the 2nd box. Found it and delivered it about 30 minutes after I'd filled out the "refund my money" forms.

So you may get that second box.

Usually they're very good with customer service and making things right.

That said, I noticed that a LOT of the cages for sale on Amazon are actually filled by BirdCages4Less. At least the good cages that I'm most interested in are.

A lot of specialty items aren't filled by Amazon at all. They come from vendors that focus on those things so Amazon can't always just ship the "other half" or kick a refund right away. They depend on the vendor for a lot of that.

But since the cages I want for my feathers are all likely to come from birdcages4less I'll probably just order from them directly. Why give Amazon a cut?
