Goofy (YNA), Oscar (Goffin 'too). Foster bird Betty (RLA). RIP Cookie, 1991-2016 ('tiel), Leo (Sengal), Charlotte (scarlet macaw). Grand-birds: Liam (budgie), Donovan (lovebird), RIP Angelo (budgie)
The last two weeks have been a whirlwind. My son brought home his budgies, one passed away, then the lovebird came home, and I made do with cages that are technically okay, but not nearly to the standard to which the birds in my home are accustomed (in other words, my birds are spoiled). So I'm shopping for cages for the Liam and Donovan, but I'm really only familiar with cages for larger parrots. There's a lot of stuff out there that just seems cheap and flimsy, and without actually being able to see stuff in person, I'm unsure of quality. Here's a few cages I'm looking at. I'm buying one cage for each bird, and they don't have to be the same one. Does anybody have experience with any of these?

This one is pretty basic, but meets all the needs. I do worry about the fancy legs on the bottom being a pain to clean. Also, is 1/2 inch bar spacing safe for a budgie? I know it'll be fine for the lovebird, but I'm not sure about the budgie.

This one seems like it might be flimsy. The price is good, and it's big enough for the budgie, but I'm not sure about the lovebird. Also, I'm back to the question of if 1/2 inch spacing is too big for a budgie.

Definitely big enough, same bar space question, but I worry about quality at that price.

Any other thoughts? Price is kinda sorta a factor. I don't necessarily need the cheapest thing ever, but I'm by no means rich and I'd rather not spend excessive amounts so I have more stashed for vet care, toys, etc.

Budgies need a cage with no larger than 1/2" bar spacing, which is the smallest out there. I will never forget that when Raven had his 1" spaced cage, the standard (non-English) budgies I had were able to go into his cage by going through the bars! Their entire bodies fit through 1"!

Out of your links there, I personally like this one best Pali Place Bird Cage with Stand, Small Bird Cages, Flight Cages, Bird Cages I went through birdcages4less.com for my budgies' double flight cage. I think flight cages are perfect for small birds. They're spacious enough for the active little guys. Most brands make them, and they're about 32" which is nice, and a lower price than parrot cages too.

RIP Gandalf and Big Bird, you are missed.
I have ordered cages on-line and purchased directly from stores. Virtually all are manufactured in China and quality widely varies. My preference is usually to eyeball them, choose a specific item, and shop by price.

A Bird Haven in Escondido and Our Feathered Friends near Qualcomm have a wide variety of cages for all sized birds. Might want to do some window shopping and compare on-line. I don't like to be a mooch and use the store as showroom, then snag the item from cyberspace, but in reality I patronize brick/mortar and virtual stores about equally.

Well, since I just spent $200 on toys and other supplies at Our Feathered Friends yesterday (and do so once a month or so), not counting the fact that's where Donovan came from, I have no issues being a bit of a mooch in looking at cages there.

Oh goodness no! If they have a wide variety of cages as A Bird Haven (same owner) you should be exposed to great candidates. Then, of course, price rules!
