So Sprinkles has a nice cage now it is 24x22x24 it is not a tall cage so all the area is used. My parents are bring out my old parrots big fancy Kings cage that is 22x22x30 it is a taller cage I forgot the exact size but it is close to what I have now. .

Since I will have 2 larger cages I am thinking of keep one cage down stairs in the living room. Sprinkles will be happy to see us all the time. Than at night or during times when I am not around he will be upstairs. In his bird proof room where he can play outside the cage safely. He will also sleep in that cage up stairs.

I felt bad keeping Sprinkles up in his own room. It was and still is safer from dogs and open doors. It also has a better view. So Now I think I found away so we can have it all. I moved him down here this morning and he is already more quite and happy being near me and the dogs. Up stairs he has the parakeets but they are not buddies. He wants to be with his people.

I do not have a big house but I can make this work.

Any other people have more than one cage for your bird. Sprinkles is so spoiled.

Bacca (Quaker)
We've got three cages. Bacca's got the main, larger cage where she sleeps most nights.
We have a smaller cage we use when she's boarded or we're travelling. Then we have a pak-o-bird we have when we actually are transporting her (either in the car or airplane).

I have no bird yet, but have one cage for downstairs and am working on getting a second cage for upstairs. I also have a carrier set up for a bird for travel. I AM getting a bird, I'm on a waiting list for a conure. I have a small house, so I can't do a big cage unfortunately. The cages I have are play top cages, and of course there will be tons of out of cage time. :)

I'm so relieved to hear that I'm not the only one with more cages than birds (my husband thinks I'm crazy because I have "spares") :)

My husband is also questioning my decision, but to me, it makes the most sense. A day cage, and a night cage. The main floor is always bright. Upstairs is quiet and gets dark. Makes perfect sense for a parrot, although I'm wondering how the parrot will take to it. Hopefully it will work out eventually.
