Has anyone tried this version of Pak-o-bird carrier?

I like the idea of my bird being able to see where he is going.

I haven't tried this one, but I have a Birdie Go-Go from Celltei that is a forward-facing backpack, which I do recommend. So far the three reviews for that Celltei Birdie Pouch do look quite good.

I ended up ordering the regular pak-o-bird backpack.
I thought that wearing the shoulder mounted carrier would be intimidating/scary to some of my fids.

I'm only gonna tell you what I was told. I didn't buy it.

"Every bird I've any birdie packs with have been afraid of it. They fall continually off the perch when inside and I take out an angry, poopy bird. They make it sound great but your birds will pay the price!"

Multiple people had similar comments. It was recommended that I buy a doll stroller and wire a transport cage to it or something stable.

For a small bird, I used a bug carrier. For a larger bird, I chose an Avianweb harness.

Whichever you choose, best wishes.

I have seen strollers made for pets (mostly dogs I think). I am sure I could fix one up with a perch. It would be ok for walking around the neighborhood but if I wanted to go where in the car and then use the stroller I don't know how it could be done.
with the pak-o-bird I could set it in the seat of the car and even use the seatbelt to keep the carrier from going anywhere.

Plus I think I would look ridicules pushing a stroller around at my age.:30:

As pointed out that was a repeated comment and recommendation. I told you what I actually use other than travel. For transport, each bird has a specific cage that is belted in.

I have a cheap bag that Timneh is really afraid of now because when I got her she was forced into it. But she did fall the first time then i secured the perch and she was fine on the rides the last couple of times. shes like a ninja now though so that helps being a black belt and all.

Never used anything like that type of carrier.

Regardless, anything in the location they show mounting that thing greatly reduces your field of vision and that is just plain dangerous.

FYI: Grandparent pushing a strollers is nothing new. You will melt into the background so quickly it will be shocking.

Sailboat: great point there: human safety first!

I got a secondhand birdy-backpack (made by/for northern parrots) to try it out.
(If they like it I'll probably get a pack-o-bird)
It needs some repairs, but since Appie is completely crazy about transport-items I think it will turn out okay.

I just use cat-cariers with a perch screwed safely in (very budgetfriendly and safe!) and she loves them (she plays in them given a chance), Japie hates them though

The macaw travels in a full metal (doggy) bench to the CAV.

I have 1 small wire cage and 1 medium wire cage to use for transport to the vet.
my main reason to get something else is for going on walks with them.
carrying a cage around the block is just not practical.

Oh yesss, I noticed that!
(dragging a cage around is no fun)

I have to stuff the carier in a big blue IKEAbag and hoist them on a shoulder and hope we will not fall of the bicycle before we get at the CAV.
(One bird at the time) Or borrow a bicycle-hang-on-cart.

I am still toying with the idea of a birdstroller- with larger cage- if I want to visit people whose house is not parrotproof.
(if it works it aint stupid )

Anyone tried this carrier?
