So good for Kings cages "New Locks"

Yep my female umbrella cockatoo Baby just figures out to move the lock and lift the door to open it. I am pretty sure Cooper help as he was on the outside side of the cage with her and he when back in right away?

She move the lock one notch down with a tool she made and manage to lift the door and open it.

My umbrella Cockatoo Baby is pretty much a genius when it comes to parrots. She pretty much figure out to break out of all her cages not just this one. She was only in it for about 15 minutes as was getting ready for work, when she broke out of this one. She knows how to do puzzles and ETC very well and put shapes in correct spot and colors where they are suppose to go. She actually plays fetch and will throw bottle, or ball back at me and I throw it back so she can go get it again. She literally argues with you if you don't let her get her way. She definitely know when she done something bad as like the time she tore up the wood trim. I came back up the stair and as I was coming up the stairs, she ran right back into her cage? Plus she potty trained, as well as Cooper is now, but won't hold it ether, if she on my shoulder she let me know to put arm out and climb down and go poo and go right back up. If she at home she goes to cage and poo away from cage. Car rides she poo before going in and then once I get out. She also does by command as well. She stay on my shoulder and is behaved during the summer, I rarely use a travel cage except for long rides during the summer. She now a very social bird despite her past aggression issues she had due to abuse last owners gave her. Most birds it take years to work out most behavior issues due to abuse and for them to fully trust you. With her it took me about a couple months if that.

I dealt and train a lot of different birds over the years and yes birds are very smart, but Baby just adapts way quicker then most and was cage bound and abused for years before I bought her from them. Won't let anyone go near her, but first couple of days of training her she step on my arm without biting me and bonded to me quicker then most would coming from that situation. She would at first get really upset if I didn't say hello to her in the morning and at times climb down to look for me to pick her up. So she very special to me. It is very true that birds pick their owners. She was like my blue streaked lory named Ruby I had him for 29 years before he past on.

Seems like Houdini is a more appropriate name!

Cockatoos are absolute Houdinis and have an ability to open most cages!

I feel that I have a VERY lazy U2...She never tries to escape and prefers to put all of her energy into bossing me around (or other weirdness). I was actually shocked when she climbed off of her cage and onto the ground the other day, as she has, historically, gotten "stuck" hanging off of her seed-skirt lol. I guess she had a burst of motivation!

My Cooper is the lazy U2. He like me to be his Uber and will point and lean the direction he wants to go. Funny thing is he can fly and is fully flight trained, but he prefer me to take him to where he wants to go. The only time he fly inside is to get into trouble chasing Frankie off, which I had to put in time out for a couple of times, or if Baby call him over a few time and I am not close enough to him. If I am close by he jump on me to take him to Baby instead. He love to boss me around as well. He the one that usually like being cuddle and stay on my shoulder most the time. Thankfully he gets along with my Cockatiels as well. Some reason he doesn't get along with Frankie my little corella Cockatoo, as he clearly jealous of him. He the one that get the most attention, even the vet on the first day of meeting him wanted to keep him as she stated he love to be cuddle and makes his squeak sound when he happy which is adorable and reminded her of her old Cockatoo she had. Cooper get along with everyone and doesn't attempt to bite anyone.


I was mad at Cooper the other day as he wanted to fly toward Frankie to attack, or scare him off as he knows Frankie will just fly to the other room. I was close to catch him before he could. Cooper never really talks before, since I had him. I told him "it is not good to be jealous". He argue with me and stated clearly "YES I CAN" twice. So now I know he can talk

EXACTLY--I pick her up and she points to where she wants to go (or decrees, "COME HERE BABY", when she wants to call her "Uber" lol)
She can fly too, but she is crappy at it because she never practices. She just rarely sees the need (and then she acts all snooty afterward, like "OH DEAR, that flapping certainly IS beneath me!"--And if she wants to go somewhere and I can't take her, she will try to sneak onto me (like during a cage clean or something lol).
When I gave mine back her food (after antibiotic), she said "HAPPY BIRD!" --she is so deliberate and very smart when she wants to be haha.


She did potty train herself and never poops in her travel cage or on people...so that is less lazy of her.
I actually have to pull off the road and park in order for her to go on longer trips (it's a big hassle), but she does a dramatic potty dance in there, like, HELP---I CAN'T STOOP THIS LOW!
