I went a little crazy and got Sisqo A LOT of new toys yesterday. So if I add these to all the other toys he has...ummm yeah, A LOT.

Sunday the weather is supposed to be really nice here, and I'm planning on taking Sisqo's cage completely apart, hosing it down, disinfecting every single nook and cranny. Then putting it back together. Then I'm going to sit down with all of his toys and perches and figure out a new layout. I think he's getting bored with how it is now.

How do you all have your cages laid out? What kind of perches & toys do you have? I just want to get some ideas going on in my head, so I won't be totally overwhelmed with it all when I re-do it.

Sounds very ambitious! I don't know how big the cage you have is, but I have one that's about 6 feet tall x 3 ft wide x 2 1/2 ft deep. Iggy has one perch down by his food and water that is wooden and goes across the length of the cage, then another higher up and more towards the front of the cage. Then he has a bedtime perch up higher (a sand one) to sleep on...I've attached a bunch of toys to the sides of his cage and some larger ones from the tops hanging down at various places to play with...If I figure it out tonight, I'll try to post a picture??? Good luck, sounds like you have an exciting weekend ahead!

Yep, did all my cages this week when the weather has been wonderful, I'll get some pics done tomorrow and get them up here, I have wood, rope, sand, perches, in various places, and toys of all shape and sizes from everywhere.

Kito is a great one for foot toys, so he's got toys all over the cage, and some foot ones in a bowl near the bottom.

Sisqo's cage is a dometop: 24" x 36" x 66", or 2ft x 3 ft x 5/5 ft or (for our friends across the pond and in Canada) 61cm x 91 cm x 167 cm

I need to go through the toys that I already have for him though, my mom informed me that she thinks he has a couple perches that haven't been used yet.

His perch that runs across the length of his cage is Manzanita. I'm thinking about drilling some holes into it, putting it up a little higher, and hanging some toys from that also. We'll see how it goes though.

:jumping40 I re-did his cage and I love it!:jumping40

I hope he loves it as much as I do.
I was helping my mom cook dinner last night, and I kept stopping and saying "oooh look, Sisqo's on that perch, he must like it there" "look! He's playing with his foot toys!" "Woo he's on his boing perch. Awesome."

Eventually she kicked me out of the kitchen because I wasn't much help at all.
I'll have to post the pics of it whenever I get a chance. He had a good day, he got to play outside all day, go to Dairy Queen (Don't worry, he only had the bananas from my banana split), and then had an awesomely decorated home to go back into :D

Isn't it great when we see them enjoying their new layout, I don't know who gets more enjoyment out of it, us or them.

I'm so glad that he likes it.

Here's a pic. of Sisqo's redesigned cage. I drilled a couple holes into his perch that goes all the way across, installed some hooks, and hung a toy from it.

I think next time I will drill holes into his perch and hide some treats for him :D

Thats great, I love the idea of drilling holes to hide food. What does Sisqo make of the water bottle?????? I tried the little ones on it and they didn't take to it. :( Has he always had it or is it something that you turned him to.

He's always had the water bottle. I really like it, and we haven't had any problems with it as far as getting clogged up and whatnot.

I honestly don't even think he would know what to do with a bowl. Which is a blessing and a curse, I love it that I don't have to clean a poopy (or food-filled) water bowl each day, but I get concerned when I have Sisqo outside or on his perch all day because he doesn't have his water bottle there. I don't want him to get dehydrated. We've put water in a dish for him, but he never messes with it.

Yeah, thats one reason I wanted the little ones on a water bottle, as George (rosella) has this habbit of putting the food in the water. Yuk thats a nasty mess to come down to in the morning. Maybe worth keeping up with it and hoping
