Sadly...I do not own a parrot
O.k. So, I visited some friends today...

I love these little things...I am going to get Forshaws out in a bit and find out how many different sub-species there are. I have Yellow thighed, and I know about Green thighed and Black headed (and if anyone wants to offer me the chance at reference shots at those I would be really greatful). I fancy doing a drawing of all the sub-species on one sheet.

Caiques are awesome little birds. They always reminded me of a south american version of a lory, so full of energy.
There is a book called "Parrots: a Photo Reference Guide" by Rosmary low. It is an incredible book and has more parrot photos than any other book I've come across.

Oh it is exellent for that. And the photos are wonderful. I lent my copy to someone and now for the life of me I can't remember who.

Quaker? What would make you say that?

I'm not great at species IDing, but that is a textbook example of a white-bellied caique and looks nothing like any quaker I've seen.

Quakers are a drab green color, they have slightly white/grey bellies and a horn colored beak ... these are not quakers, they are Caiques ...

That is from somone who is awesome at IDing breeds ... :40:

Quakers? Quakers have grey breasts, and a mainly green body, with a more rare blue mutation.
