new WBC coming home tomorrow. I was wondering if some of you could tell me about how much time your Caiques spend out of their cage each day.

Thanks

Well although I do not personally own a caique I do know a lot of people that do. I'd say if you can 30minutes on you and then give him a playgym for a couple hours. Make sure to keep hm busy, caiques are busy little guys and need to be kept entertained at all times or they will make more mischief then they already do.

Also a realistic schedule you can keep up with is great. Mine I have out in the morning, Then when I get home [the playgym works great] .Its almost as if they need it.Like little kids running out to recess [they dont want to see you yet].They let me know when their ready. These guys are very head strong. So keep things picked up they cant have .Cause if they happen to get it [They feel its theirs and good luck getting it back LOL] I like mine to have big wide cages with swings ,toys and LOTS of foot toys !! My Greta was my first bird ,I really lucked out ,They are an all around great bird . They seem to like all my family members. At night I notice as soon as it gets dark they put themselves to bed. Have a great time with your new caique !!

Do they "freak" if on any given day for some reason you cant let them out that long?

They may not be happy about it, but they do not freak out and start being to crazy. You may hear slightly more noise the day after like they are depending to come out, but I never have an issue if my guys go in early for one night they are usually ok with it:).

Lets say I have plans after I get home. I just shorten the routine . A few minutes on the playstand ,a kiss and tell them how great they are and a treat waiting in their cage. I havent had any problems :)
