How fun are these two?!

Remember, never rough house with a bird... it destroys trust, makes them aggressive, turns them into biters... err.. uuhh... uummm... NEVERMIND!

Anyone watching this video still believe that myth?!

It's busted.

PLAY WITH YOUR DANG BIRDS!

IT MAKES THEM HAPPY. MAKES YOU LAUGH. IT'S FUN!!!

Oh man, this is awesome!

What really struck me is that the behavior patterns of the two caiques are very similar to the way E&H run around.

We play together all the time. I just stop if they get a little too carried away; that always does the trick. (Even then, it's not like they're biting too hard--I just want to keep the boundaries clear.)

And yes, I usually end up in tears from laughing. I built up the pillow fort last night, and E, H and I each took turns defending it from each other.

I lost. As usual...
;)

I couldn't have said it better....My Grey loves to play, my hand gets attacked, not hard as he knows, but boy do we have fun.
though now he is getting a bit jealous of the other birds at play time. Won't let them play.....shoo's them away. LOL he wants all the fun.

Of our four Caiques, only two like to play like this!
It's a blast watching them tumble around and getting into the action with an old fashioned round of finger wrestling or sock tug of war surfing!

Pixie the White Bellied Caique
Pixie loves to play like this but as the others have commented within boundaries. She does the sweetest thing while playing on her back. She uses her beak to play and clasps her feet together just like she is saying her prayers. I have been trying to get a picture....still trying lol
