A month ago i brought a 3 month BHC home to join our family, 4 dogs(1 pitbull, 3 Chihuahuas) and 3 humans. We've absolutely fallen in love with Tiki our little guy or gal, not really sure atm.

Tiki is fearless and hilarious, after the second weak of hilarity I was playing with Tiki on my lap, like I've been doing just about every night it seems, I let my pit finally get close enough to give Tiki a quick smell and Tiki gave my pit a quick chomp on her nose...Needless to say my dog has had her fill of Tiki and makes it a point to stay clear of the little parrot.

My question is, maybe in a year or two I'd like to get a second bird. I would really like a IRC as that was my first choice before I did some research on other birds and settled on a Caique. Hopefully someone here has had some experience doing this and can give me the possible pro's and potential cons of trying this. there would be separate cages but they would inevitably spend some time in contact together and i want to make sure i don't end up making a terrible mistake. I've read that Caiques can be difficult with other birds.
