Pink around eyes & nares?

Hello all. Were 3 weeks in & our baby is doing great. Hes happy, eating, drinking, & pooping normal. Hes a bit pink around his eyes & nares. The breeder said that its from certain fresh foods. Have you guys seen this before?

Re: Pink around eyes & nares?

Im not familiar with Caiques so maybe? Macaws can blush with emotion, and when my baby Ringnecks get too pink its usually dehydration or an infection.

I would call a certified avian vet to ask.

Which foods are supposed to cause this?

Re: Pink around eyes & nares?

Most of us swear by our avian vets in the event of health concerns.
Certified Avian Vets
https://abvp.com/animal-owners/find-an-abvp-specialist/
If none are near you...
Avian Veterinarians
http://www.aav.org/search/custom.asp?id=1803
In my opinion, any of the vets listed here should be better than a regular vet.
International contacts, too.
Good for you, for reaching out!
And good luck!
