For those of you that have housed your caiques in the A&E’s [white vein] Flight Cage, what was your experience like?

The cage is White Vein, and Powder Coated. 1’2” bar spacing.
I know caiques are big chewers, but I’ve never seen my Bandit chew on the cage bars. I’m slightly concerned about this cage because some people have had their caiques chew through the bars and escape, and some just get the paint off.

Absolutely!! I love these style cages. Mine are very similar. I have two Kings cages that are very close to that. I really like and my birds prefer the white cages. I have one black and every bird I put in there wants to move to a white one, I think they let more light in

I know the cage is safe for parakeets finches and tiels and parrotlets, but caiques have a very very tough and sturdy beak and they’re prominent chewers. I see you have a budgie, a conure, and I think quakers?? Not sure how tough quakers are, but caiques have impeccable beaks.

These are my Quaker , and GCC cages. I think you will be fine with your caique, I really do. Your bird will prefer to chew wood and shredding stuff over bars. I think the bars are pretty sturdy. Maybe a caique person will weigh in

I can’t speak to a Caique chewing on the cage bars, but I will say that those alternate small openings that sort of “snap” shut (on the sides near the top in the picture) were an issue with one of my sun conures that has a strong enough beak to manipulate them into opening. I solved it pretty easily with a stainless steel snap clip on them to prevent escapes.....

Gemma has quite a lot of toys yet she still likes to chew the bars. She will scrape the paint off the bars, but normally it’s just for the noise. (Sorry, I don’t have any experience with the cage in the picture/link)
In my opinion caiques need stronger cage bars than the usual flimsy ones. I couldn’t find the bar strength on that cage although I think that it could be a good home for a while, but not expecting it to last as long as some others.
